What a day

Well what an exciting day....The beautiful magazine arrived today and oh wow it is so exciting.... Here is a link for a sneak peak (in the contents page, A charmed life 46). The photo above was also taken on the day of the photo shoot by the amazing photographer Jared Fowler.... Australian Country Style has been my favourite magazine for a very long time. I feel totally blessed to be a part of the March Issue.... Will draw the lucky winners tomorrow as today I spent dancing around the house listening to Taylor Swift and really just taking it all in....Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my last post it means so much....

Very, Very Exciting

Well here is the cover of the March Country Style magazine that my little cottage is being featured in...Some subscribers are already getting there copies (not me yet). Out in newsagents next Wednesday, I am so excited!!! So to celebrate I will be putting some charms for sale on my shoppe blog this weekend. Also I will be giving away 3 copies so drop by and say hello and I will put you in the draw. All comments need to be posted by the 25th of February!!!!

Enough about me - how about some pretty pictures!!!

Well thank you all for your amazing responses to my last post... Lots and lots of things to think about and really not sure at all where my head is!!! So last night I had another little bit of a change around and here is the result....When I put the cupboard at the end of my studio room I felt a bit enclosed with the table there so I have moved it back to the lounge room and put a long stool there instead and I think it has opened the area up... I think these photos are pretty special I hope you like them.... Only one week till the magazine comes out, I am getting so excited !!!!!!

A SHOP OF HER OWN - ADVICE

Well everyone!!!!!! I need your help and also advice!!! Yesterday a dear sweet girl that I have known for several years asked me whether I would like to open a shop in a new little shopping village that she and her husband and parents are building.... It would be a small shop in the village of Highfields...Opening would be between July and September this year!!! Because of the world market and the economy would I be silly to even think about it... I am thinking that if I did I would take on a partner so I could keep the other side of my business running for the financial stability... My daughter Kirstie was so excited as she said that she would love to be involved!!! I would have to be opened atleast Thursday to Sunday!!! OK guys I need heaps of comments here good and bad I don't really care... Can't wait to hear from you.... As you can imagine my head hasn't stopped thinking about this !!!!!

Inspirational!

Well Kirstie and I had a very special day yesterday, shopping, having tea out and then going to the movies...(boys were at a cricket match in Brisbane) On our travels she bought this gorgeous magnet to go on her locker and this is what is said....

My love of mirrors

I just love mirrors and I know I have posted about them before but as my cottage is so tiny it is really good to use mirrors to make a space feel larger....I love using old recycled frames, in the case above my hubby made this from old boards that we needed to replace on the side of house....It still has the original old paint on it and then I have white washed over the top of it!!!! The one on my new shelf I paid $10 for at a swap meet!!!

Today it has been so hard to concentrate on blogging about my home as it just seems trivial!!! (even though I love you all)... When more then 750 Australian homes have been lost by fire and so many innocent people have lost there lives...I have had many lovely emails from overseas wondering whether we are ok...I live over 1000 kilometres from where these horrific fires are...We are so lucky!!! May our love and prayers be with all these people and our heart felt thanks to all those amazing fire fighters and health workers who risk their lives to save others!!!!!!!

little laundry cupboard

Well some days I have trouble thinking of images of my little cottage that you haven't seen before....Anyway, my laundry is sort of in a cupboard...I don't have a dryer just a washing machine and then a sink just outside the cupboard and this little white box, that I made into a cupboard is just beside the entry to my studio room.... I love how old glass looks, the little bottle we found in our garden while digging one day and of course one of my favourite things, french soap...
