Elements of my Kitchen

Well as you all know my kitchen isn't exactly how I would have it as it is dark honey coloured timber throughout but I must say it still has some cool elements so I will share different bits that I like over the next couple of posts....Hard to get clear photos in there though, as it is so dark...I love old linens, silverware, nice glasses and glassware and elements with history... This little table is made from an old sewing machine base that was my Nannas and has a piece of marble sitting on top from Mum's kitchen, also some of mum's old recipe books.....

Well I hope you guys don't get sick of photos of my studio room...Even though it is a tiny space it is always changing and evolving to best suit my needs and a little eye candy for me - lol...Well my old wardrobe got a nice new glass shelf over the weekend....I think it looks pretty cool and I am sure the things that sit on it will change constantly.... At the moment is has an old mirror with white timber frame, 2 tiny cloches with french soap and one of my favourite little books the essence of white...

Details and Texture 2

Simple details of life that make me smile... I LOVE tactile things.... The hemp and linen twine, the old timber with crackling paint, the letters that still have old printers ink embedded in them... The feel of ripping old or new paper...Simple but beautiful!!!!!

Friendships by email!!!!

Well this is a subject I hold true to my heart. The friendships I have made through the wonderful world of blog... I have met so many wonderful people and I truly feel blessed but today I just wanted to mention a very special family the Knudsens. Paige, Dan and their wonderful family of 4 gorgeous girls have touched my life with fun, friendship and love... My daughter Kirstie has made very special friendships by email with Emi and Madi and that makes her extremely happy... The news most days is about tragic and horrific things in the world but I must say most days I am blessed with gorgeous sweet emails from woman all over the world that make me smile...So to Paige (she gave me this gorgeous "C" on my cupboard for Christmas) and all my other dear friends.....THANK YOU!!!!!
There is magic in long-distance friendships. They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound. ~Diana Cortes

My little cupboard!!!

Just wanted to share my little chest of drawers with you... This piece was very, very old and in pieces when we got it (and dirty dark timber, so wish I had taken a photo of the before)...It still has its old rustic feel to it but now it is in working order.. I still need some little handles or knobs for the drawers but until I find what it needs I am using vintage ribbon and some of my pretty little charms to make it look like me!!!! The drawers are slowly being filled with old little scraps of paper to help me with my designing.... Hope you like it!!!!

I am a real detail person and last night after my dear hubby finished off my little 12 drawer cupboard which has its place under my inspirations board I thought it needed a change....I stayed up to 1 am looking through clippings and such that I had and this is what I came up with I hope you like it....It is so me and will have to get some roses to put in my little ironstone jug!!!! Will show you photos of my little cupboard soon....It has no little knobs on the drawers yet so I have used vintage ribbon....and a few of my charms...very cute !!!!

So HOT!!!!

Well as I sit here eating a little crunchy apple off one of my tiny trees before the parrots make a meal of it, I just wanted to show you a view from my clothes line.....As I have told you I am not much of a gardener but I do love pretty gardens... The polls in the first photo are awaiting a swing, something I have always loved since I was a kid and still at every chance I get go for a swing in the park... We are having temperatures in the high 30's at the moment and I must say I really don't enjoy it... Kirstie is off at the movies with a friend today and Andrew is helping his dad in the shed, restoring a little, tiny cupboard with 12 tiny drawers to put my charms and things in...I will post photos when it is finished....
