Early birthday surprise!!!!

Well friends I just thought I would drop by to let you in on a very special day I had today... My dear friend Angela who works with me now a couple of mornings a week and is one of my dearest and most inspirational friends, came over today with lots of wonderful surprises... I am turning 42 this special Easter weekend and she thought we could celebrate early... She bought me a gorgeous bunch of roses from our wonderful local rose farm, a lovely recipe journal and a sweet cushion of raw linen and blue stripes for my bed and she also took me to my favourite cafe for lunch of yummy potato soup and damper....HOW SPOILT AM I???????? We giggle and reminisce about all the things we have in common, of our favourite lollies and soft drink, favourite colours and furniture and everything in between... Thank you my friend for making this day a very special one...

Forever Changing - my memory board

Well work is so very busy at the moment and I just want to paint a wall or move some furniture or do at least something so I rearranged my memory board the other day with images and words that I love.. These photos have turned out a little dark I am sorry as there is a lot of reflection coming off the clippings from the magazines... I hope you all like my new banner as well, another little change to keep me smiling... Anyway amongst my orders that I have at the moment I am also working on some special Mothers Day charms ...... Will have some things for sale on my Shoppe blog hopefully very soon.... Will be heading to the coast for the 4 days of Easter and when I return I will be a little older (giggle!!!!)...

Inspirations

Well over my Summer break I made the decision I needed to start going through my HUGE magazine collection and clipping them up and making some inspirational journals. I bought some black paged art journals so that the images would really stand out... Here is just a few pages to show you what I get inspired by... These pictures also inspire me in my designing as well as decorating my little cottage...

Before and Afters

Firstly I need to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dear friend Angela...!!!! She is one the sweetest, people I know....!!!!!Well I have decided to start a series of before and afters from my home... I have to tell you once again we live in a TINY little railway cottage. We have been here for nearly 19 years (later in the year) and I love it still... My studio is obviously the space I use the most so I thought I would start here.... This room has changed so many times (sometimes on a weekly basis) so I just thought I would show some major changes we have had.... Some photos I am nearly embarrassed to show but anyway they are all part of the journey ....The first photo showed the room with a built in strange cupboard and there used to be a bed on top... with yucky carpet.... then I painted it off-white with a green trim and polished the hardwood timber floors, then we removed half the casement windows and added french doors (I would love to paint these white soon) and a wonderful deck to the back yard and I painted it mustard.... I was a stitchery designer for several years so you can then understand the picture in 2001... Now it is painted chalk USA (my favourite paint colour) I SO love my room now but still many changes in the future as my house is a constant work in progress....
